We restored floors in the Dagenham area. We can refinish your floors in a matter of days, whether they are very worn or just need to be refinished. Here is our hardwood floor refinishing process laid out in six easy steps. It's really that easy, we promise!
Every installation or refinishing job begins with an in-home consultation. We will review your hardwood floor checklist and help you choose a stain that suits your style. You can have the exact color you desire by mixing custom stain colors. Also, we need to know the type of wood used in your floors so that we can properly care for them during the refinishing process.
We then walk the floor looking for squeaks and low spots as well as uneven seams. We then fix them by tightening the floor from below and sanding planks until they are even.
STEP 3: DUSTLESS SANDWING
The Bona Atomic Dust Containment System (r) is what we use. It sucks dust into a sealed tube which is then transported to our trailer. This dust-free system offers many benefits:
You don't have to leave your home.
There is no need to board your pet
There's no need to seal off rooms
There is no dust in your ductwork
A perfect finish is guaranteed without dust
No strong odors resulting from stripping agents
After the floors have been sanded, our team inspects them closely for any last problems. We will fill any nail holes, cracks, or gouges that we find.
STEP 5. GARDENING YOUR HARDWOOD FLOORING
Next, we stain our newly sanded floors. Next, we stain your floor with the water-based stain that you prefer. It is tested on your floor to ensure it is visible. Once you are satisfied the color is correct, we apply it to your floor.
After the stain has dried we apply three coats of a durable, easy-to-apply, and environmentally safe top coat to protect the hardwood floor. The first coat seals. The second coat seals. The third and fourth coats create thickness that will last for many years. You can choose finishes from low luster up to high gloss. To ensure you get the best results, we screen and buff between each coat of refinishing.
To ensure a smooth experience, you will need to do some preparation work before installing your floors.
- Remove Furniture from Flooring
First, remove all furniture from the area where floors will be refinished. Once the installers arrive, they can get started immediately.
- Plan Activities Outside of the Home
Today's dustless refinishing is so easy that you don't even need to leave your house. If our team is working in the same area as you, it might be easier for you to schedule activities outside of your home. It will make the experience less intrusive.
